The site keeps almost nothing, and nothing about your studying.

What the site itself collects

Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers and no tracking cookies. The pages are static files.

Your study progress

Which cards you have seen, how you graded them and when they are due is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data erases it, and it does not move between devices on its own.

When you buy a set

The payment page is run by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe handles your card details; we never see them. Stripe tells us your email address and what you bought, and keeps that in its records so we can issue refunds and send a fresh access link if you ask for one.

Your access link

Your access link is a signed code that says which sets you bought and the email address used at checkout. It is stored in your browser once you open it. When you ask for a replacement on the restore page, we look the address up in Stripe's records and send one email through Resend, our email service. We keep no mailing list and send nothing else.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps ordinary web server logs (address, page requested, time) for a short period for security and operations.

Children

Toon Words is used by students, and it collects nothing from them: no name, no account, no email. A purchase is made by an adult through Stripe.
